VOLUNTEER

Could you donate your time to help our mission?

We are a small, Wokingham-based, volunteer-led charity that exists to advance arts and culture for public benefit in Wokingham Borough. We believe that everyone should have access to art irrespective of their background or financial circumstances. We rely solely on volunteers to help make our dream of universal access to public art a reality. Want to donate your time? We’d love to hear from you.

Join our committee, lend a hand, or contribute specialist skills where needed to help us with our mission to make public art accessible to everyone.

Current volunteer opportunities:

Grant-writing volunteer

For our inaugural project, we are commissioning a major, permanent, free-standing artwork for Wokingham located outside the main entrance of the new Carnival Hub that seeks to draw upon the borough’s cultural identity.

With the Arc, we aim to create an improved place identity by creating a landmark symbolic of social inclusion in Wokingham. We are hoping for the Arc to increase investment into our town, as well as the aesthetic enjoyment public art brings.

To bring this project to fruition, we are fundraising through a number of channels, including applying for grants. We are looking for a grant-writing volunteer to join our team.

Duties will include:

  • Desk-based research to find suitable grant providers for us to apply to

  • Writing and submitting grant applications

Benefits of volunteering with us include:

  • The opportunity to play a part in giving Wokingham its first major landmark piece of public art

  • The opportunity to be part of a diverse, dedicated, supportive team of individuals passionate about developing arts and cultural opportunities

  • A chance to develop new and existing skills.

Whilst previous experience is desirable, it is not essential. What is essential, is a passion for the development of arts and culture for all.
