HAYLEY MILLS AND JENNY SEAGROVE CHAMPION A4W

On Wednesday 3rd September 2025, Wokingham Theatre was buzzing with excited friends, family and supporters of Arts4Wokingham.  They’d all gathered for a special gala theatre-night fundraiser.

Wokingham Theatre had gifted A4W the entire auditorium together with a preview performance of the first play in their new season, Richard Harris’s ‘Dead Guilty’.

The playwright had kindly sent his best wishes along with a signed copy of the play for the evening’s raffle. But it was another prize which seemed to be catching all the attention. The two stars of the play’s original run in London, Hayley Mills and Jenny Seagrove, had also sent signed cards and personal messages to accompany an authentic poster of its 1995 West end debut. Needless to say these unique prizes were much sought after and the raffle was a huge success.

Meanwhile, back on stage, the cast delivered word perfect, thought provoking and flawless performances.

A great night was enjoyed by all those who attended. Clearly, an audience of art lovers was delighted to enjoy a theatrical event whilst, at the same time, contributing to a local arts based charity. Several thousand pounds was raised and will be used to help A4W continue in its mission to champion and promote more public art across the borough of Wokingham.

A4W are indebted to Wokingham Theatre for their generosity in enabling us to make this event possible.
